Jermaine N. Johnson

Jermaine has always been a natural leader and strives for the best not only in himself but those around him. He began working with youth in Washington, D.C. at the elementary and middle school levels as a group leader for Friendship Public Charter Schools after school enrichment program, Friendship CARES, in 2010 at their Southeast campus. In 2014, he transitioned to the secondary level as a special education assistant for Prince Georges County Public Schools at Suitland High School. It was here, while sitting in a classroom with young males that seemed to sell themselves short when it came to academics and career development, that his confirmation came to start Reality Check Mentoring Inc. Jermaine believes the reality is that any person can and will become what they set out to be if given the proper resources and environment to do so. Jermaine now works for the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). He truly believes we must invest in our young males to produce positive and productive men in
society.
